Just when you thought it couldn't get any better...
string art does it again! You crazy, string art!
One of my friends special ordered this puppy. She is from Maryland and wanted the state flag painted on the background. Yep, I hand painted this baby.
I guess I'd have to thank my straight edge and collection of tiny paint brushes for making it quite precise.
In other comments: damn, Maryland, you tricky with your bajillion peninsulas!
Good news peeps, I've already listed this in my Etsy shop! CLICK HERE if you'd like one with your state! Just like with the other string art, it is completely customizable from the city to state to string color! I can also do patterns (think houndstooth for you bama fans or tiger stripes for AU or LSU).
It's been awhile since I've gotten international! Let me introduce Thailand:
I love the way she turned out! The purple is hard to photograph, but it was almost electric. So much so that I painted it darker before going back to the bright.
It may be a bit hard to tell, but the string is a metallic silver. How chic! This was for one of my most loyal customers, and she honeymooned in Thailand. I'm so jealous!
Guess what y'all? Have you been dying to get your paws on a string art? Well my friend Christen is doing a giveaway over at her blog, theuncontainabletruth.com. She is revamping her blog, and the new look will be revealed on February 14 (Valentine's day!). Her bloggie is great if you're looking for some uplifting words or if you enjoy sweet family blogs (Christen and her hubs Raleigh have twin toddler girls with an incredible story).
Isn't it weird how you start reading blogs that introduce you to their families, then all of a sudden you feel like you're their BFFs? I feel like I could hang out with some of the families I read about, then I realize they don't know me in real life.. I had a crazy dream about the family from younghouselove.com (aka home blogging superstars) where we were friends. I woke up feeling a little warm and fuzzy knowing we got to hang out, then quickly realized I was a crazy lady.
That's not the case with Christen and Raleigh though! They're from Dothan and went to Auburn! For Christen's big launch, she's hosting a giveaway which includes this baby:
An all-over Alabama string art that's red and light blue! You may remember this color combination from the Dothan string art I did before Christmas, which was ordered by Christen! I'll remind you guys next week to head over there on Feb 14 to find out how to win!
